Batman

The Dark Knight, the sequel to the awesome Batman Begins, won’t hit theaters until July 18th this summer but that’s not going to keep us from hearing preview reviews. Of course you’ll have to be wary as the sneak peek review was written in Portuguese and then translated over. IESB.net found the review and pulled a spoiler free excerpt together:

“The cast is awesome, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman stealing scenes in which all are present. Maggie Gyllenhaal fantastic replacing Katie Holmes and Aaron Eckhart as a great surprise as the politician with a heart of gold whose personality changes after a horrible accident. Another surprise is Eric Roberts as the mobster he knows so well how to do. Christian Bale solid as ever, cool since Bruce Wayne is a rich playboy and Batman is the opposite. The film plays a lot with this duality, all the characters are complex, has ambiguities, very interesting and delicate here.”

Um, I’m just as excited as the next guy about this new Batman movie, but I could have written that without having seen it. Watch this, I’ll write a review on the third, non-existent Batman movie with Christian Bale:

“The story is awesome. Michael Caine stays solid as Alfred, glad he didn’t go and die on us. Heidi Klum replacing Maggie Gyllenhaal was such the right choice. Javier Bardem was a great surprise as the Penguin, taking it in a whole other direction than Devito’s. Batman doesn’t get any better than when Christian Bale does it. He’s really mastered the Bruce Wayne character. This film plays a lot with violence, all the characters fight, get in fights, have fights. Lot of fighting.”

See, that was easy. Now you try.
