This is great. Remember how Ashlee Simpson used to complain about how her sister Jessica was constantly in the shadow of Britney Spears? Looks like that rivalry has extended to the younger siblings with the news that Ashlee Simpson, 23, is pregnant just months after the discovery of little Spears, Jamie Lynn, being pregnant at just 16. Take that Team Spears!

The rivalry aside you might remember that Ashlee just got engaged to wannabe rocker Pete Wentz last Wednesday. Their reps had no comment other than this:

“We are thrilled to confirm their engagement and congratulate this happy couple,” a spokesperson for the couple told Us. “Beyond that there is nothing to say.”

I’m sure this engagement had nothing to do with the pregnancy. It’s a miracle baby!
