BB9 Houseguests

Big Brother 9 picks right back up with the nomination ceremony. No one seems terribly outright upset about being nominated. I guess at this point they’ve been through this so much that they’re used to it.

Sheila tells us that Adam and Sharon aren’t her real targets. Instead Natalie is the real target and everyone seems to know that but Natalie. Natalie thinks she’s playing the game right and is safe on both sides.

The fighting starts between Sheila and Adam. He’s upset that he’s on the block even though he knows he should be safe. Ryan says Adam did almost screw them all last week. Sheila is upset that he’s making her feel bad about it. Ryan tells him to start blaming everyone for it. Natalie is watching this all and staying quiet.

Now that Natalie is outside Sheila is ready to start bitching about her. She’s mad that Nat never stopped to really listen to Sheila bitch about everything in her life. Sharon wisely just sits there listening and lets Sheila bitch about not getting to bitch.

Uh oh! A news flash comes across the TV in the BB house and tells them to get ready for the PoV competition tonight. These are usually during the day, but this one will be a midnight special. As everyone prepares Sheila swears to Sharon that she has her “frickin’ word” that she’ll be safe this week. Hmm, could that be more foreshadowing for a Sheila special betrayal?? Natalie finds The Bros. and tells them she is having preemies, which apparently isn’t a premature baby in this case, but rather premonitions that they’ll win the PoV.

PoV Competition:
Everyone will be playing one at a time. Natalie goes first and comes out to a giant TV set with 70’s decor. Wow, this is awesome! There are 9 screens and 9 remotes. The HGs will use the remotes to change the screens to show a picture and try to puzzle together the giant TV picture to be all one picture at a time. But be careful because there are multiple pictures, but just one right answer!

Natalie is having a heck of a time. She gets hung up on the mistake of there being multiple pictures. Finally she figures it out and hits the button. Wow, there’s just one image to solve? Past years there have been a ton of morph pictures to solve. Probably a safer bet to go with one for this crew!

Adam sets up all his remotes so he can “have a proper workstation”. Smart plan. Ryan gets hung up on the picture of his girlfriend Jen, remember her?? He says he was distracted by her beauty. Sharon has a similar reaction to the picture of Jacob. Most disturbing is that Sheila was overwhelmed by everyone having their heads on Dick’s body. Turns out Sheila wants a try at being on Dick’s body.

Slowly we see that everyone else is figuring out which is the right picture. Well everyone but Sheila who seems to take more pleasure in looking at the cute pictures of everyone as hamsters. It’s impossible to tell with this editing how long everyone took, but it’s definitely spun as though Sheila took the longest, by a lot, a lot a lot.

Everyone comes back out for the results. Natalie is peppy because she thinks she won. Let’s see if she did:

Ryan: 6m01s
Sheila: 15m30s (!!)
Adam: 3m20s
Natalie: 12m09s
Sharon: 4m56s

Adam wins the Power of Veto!

Back in the house, post competition, Sheila points out that there are slim pickings on who will get nominated in Adam’s place. Sheila and Sharon team up in the HoH while Natalie and Ryan talk in the kitchen. Natalie is talking about how they’ll need to get everyone else out. Ryan goes up and says he’s with Sheila and Sharon. He says that if Sheila wants her gone then she’s gone. Sheila says that’s what she wants. “She’s gone,” says Ryan.

Later Natalies comes up and starts trash talking Sharon to Sheila. I think she was trying to gauge Sheila’s response to talk about Sharon. Things suddenly change over to talk about whether Sheila will go back on her word not to send Sharon or Natalie home. Sheesh, she’s in a real mess here and either way will have to go back on her word!

Now for some nice time. It’s Sheila’s birthday, turning 46 this past week. The other HGs get supplies for BB (that was nice of them) and set it all up out back. Sheila comes down and is shocked. They light the candles and she makes it a spit-cake when she blows them out (hat tip to Bernie Mac’s great spit-cake joke). Sheila gets a letter from her mother which makes her cry a lot. Turns out Sheila hadn’t talked to her mother in a long time but now hopes she can have a better relationship with her mother because of this letter. Well that’s pretty cool. Good for her.

Ahh, back to the drama! Sharon is one smart girl. She gets Adam alone and talks about how everyone wants to take her to the F2 because she’ll only have 3 votes (hah! just like I’ve been saying) and this gives Adam pause to consider. He goes out to talk to Ryan who reminds him that Sharon will of course say anything to be kept. Ryan says he isn’t sure how he’ll vote.

Back inside Sheila tells the Bros that they better not split their vote because she can’t handle it. She’s really worried that Adam will throw his vote to keep Natalie while Ryan goes to eliminate Natalie. Sheila swears she’ll make Adam’s life hell. She keeps going and tells Adam that if he doesn’t do as she says she’ll put up “his bro” [Ryan]. I can’t believe she said that in front of Ryan! She leaves and Ryan tells Adam to ignore her and they’ll figure out who they want to go and who will stay.

Power of Veto Ceremony:

Adam says he’ll use the veto and he expects to see Natalie nominated in his place. Sharon doesn’t put up much of an argument and tells Adam to save himself. He does that and then Sheila has to get up and give us the “this is the hardest thing I’ve had to do in this game” speech. Sheila says she’ll be replacing Adam with Natalie.

Sheila has nominated Natalie.

Natalie says she feels safe. Ryan is excited because he and Adam control the house and feel in charge of the house now. Let’s see if they can make it last. Wednesday night we’ll get the live eviction and new HoH competition.
