The Bachelor Season 11

Six bachelorettes left tonight on The Bachelor and only four roses. Welcome to the biggest night of Matt’s life so far because the four he chooses are the four whose families he meets.

We start by Chris coming into the house to explain the week to the girls. He says that at the end of the week, four will take Matt home. There will be two one-on-one dates and one group date, but ALL will be in Sun Valley, ID! Shayne is super excited because she skis and snowboards very well.

The girls arrive in Sun Valley and a snow fight immediately ensues. Matt tosses every girl into the snow bank, but Marshana is trying to avoid it at all costs because although it is fun and everyone’s having a good time, she doesn’t want to mess up her “look.” She ends up in the snow bank anyway.

They go into their cabin and Matt tells them he’ll pick one of them up later. The box comes and we learn that Chelsea is going on a private sleigh ride with Matt. She’s excited because she has never been on a sleigh ride before. Then they preview for the Most Shocking Confrontation in Bachelor History! You know how much I love those cat fights!

Chelsea’s Date

We come back and Matt interviews that he can only visit four hometowns and he wants to make sure that they are the right four. Cut to Chelsea and Matt’s sleigh ride. They goof around and laugh a lot, mostly about horse butts. Matt wonders if there is more to their relationship than “best friends” and if Chelsea can be romantic. She says she doesn’t like hand-holding, which I find kinda weird, but that she’s more of a linked arm kind of girl. He tells her he needs someone who is affectionate.

The date box arrives at the cabin and we find out it’s for all but Noelle. The girls are ecstatic because they knew it would either be Robin or Noelle with the second one-on-one and they are thrilled that it’s not Robin. Apparently, the group date is a ski date.

Back to Matt and Chelsea. They are sitting inside by a roaring fire (of course) and he solemnly tells her he doesn’t like her sense of humor. She’s a bit put off until she realizes he’s joking around with her. I was like, whoa, there buddy. He asks her if she can be romantic and she tells him she can, but that it’s hard because it’s her shy, vulnerable side (as it is with all of us). He says he is completely into her. Then, she excuses herself and goes off to write her own “fantasy suite” card (which we all know is just a ploy to get him to…well, you know!). She wants to go over to his place. He’s all about it (of course he is, he doesn’t waste any time with the physical stuff…..) so Matt and Chelsea go off to his place and the tell-tale editing of the door shutting plays and fades us into commercial. Whoa. Did that just happen?

Group Date
He decides to take each girl off alone and Amanda’s first. He thinks she’s hot in her ski gear and when he’s teaching her how to ski, she picks it up very quickly. Amanda interviews that “He’ll make a good dad!” because of his superb teaching skills.

Then Marshana goes and has many problems learning to ski. She screams a lot and is sad because all that learning meant no talk time.

Noelle’s date box arrives at the house and she’ll be going ice skating with Matt later.

Back to the group date. It is now time for Shayne’s turn and she is on a snowboard. They go down the hill together, then she wipes out and they sit there talking for awhile. He says they have a “great, fun connection” and he cracks up when she pulls out her make up from her jacket pocket. Seriously? I mean, at least she’s honest and playful about it. Eh, well. I’m not her, nor anything like her, but she’s cute and Matt likes her, so whatever. They start kissing and, oh dear, here comes Robin, on a mission, to find out why Matt didn’t give her the one-on-one (and to take him away from Shayne, her classic move). Shayne’s pissed, and I’m pretty sure I’m on her side for this one. She’s never been cruel to anyone, so why should she get interrupted?

Anyway. Robin asks him why she didn’t get the alone date (more like, demanded) and Matt says it is because they already have a close connection. They all go into a hot tub and Amanda gets more alone time involving kissing and a little talking.

Noelle’s Date
Matt’s main objective is to get to know her better (and the editing has finally helped the viewers to do the same). He thinks she’s pretty. We find out that they have the whole rink to themselves, which is good because neither can skate, but both laugh a lot about it. Then, they get a bit serious and we come to find out that both have had face trauma and reconstruction done in order to repair whatever damage that whatever accident caused. Hmm, that’s interesting. Anyway, she says it made her realize that life’s short and appreciate everything you have. He kisses her. I like her.

Back at the house, Robin is confident she’s getting a hometown date. Then Marshana and Robin get into it when Marshana refuses to speculate. Chelsea intervenes and I’m not sure, but I think the gist of it is that Robin and Chelsea think that Marshana is negative? Anyway, Chelsea realizes that this is not something she wants to get into, though since she already said something, Marshana refuses to let it go and runs around the house screaming. Shayne eventually breaks it up, but the damage is done.

Back to the date and Noelle and Matt. They talk about living in London. Noelle interviews that as far as the hometown date, she is glad she had this date to make sure that it’s what she really wanted too. I think she is the first bachelorette that thought of herself as an equal, not just a girl at the feet of the boy, waiting for him to choose her. I think I really like that. She strikes me as someone who would leave if she wasn’t feeling it. Anyway, she opens up bigtime, they flirt, they kiss.

Based on this episode, I want Marshana and Robin gone.

Cocktail Party
All the girls feel they have a good connection. Marshana brings up the argument to Matt (oooh…bad choice) and while I think she’s trying to show how mature she was, she talks in this baby voice and really comes off as a first grade girl tattling. She just wants to spin it her way.

Next, Chelsea takes Matt and a drunk Marshana refuses to leave for a little, then tries to make herself look classy by saying, “You guys stay, I’ll leave.” Nice. Not classy at all.

Robin is up next and the girls hate the fact that he’s so into her. Shayne is now really trying to talk him into coming home with her, he kisses her, and this is all happening so fast, now Chris Harrison (!) comes in and does his thing. Bye, Matt!

Rose Ceremony

He thanks them for Sun Valley where he got to know them well. They all tugged at his heart and he is humbled and privileged to meet their families.

First rose goes to: Shayne (ok, she’s in my top four).
Second rose goes to: Noelle (Sweet! Top 2 for me).
Third rose goes to: Chelsea (oh, dear God, please let Amanda get the last one!)
Last rose goes to: Amanda (holy poo! My top four are staying!)

Bye Marshana and Robin. Marshana is nice to Matt as she exits, Robin is curt and prissy. Marshana interviews that she’s still fabulous and she wants to walk out like a lady. Robin is shocked, pissed, he made a mistake, blah blah blah.

Next week, Shayne’s dad and Chelsea’s dad make Matt nervous, and Amanda’s drunk mother touches Matt’s nipples. Should be awesome!
