X-Files 2

The pieces are coming together at last for the new X-Files movie. A few weeks ago the first movie poster was released, though it didn’t really give us much more than Mulder and Scully would be good at light puppets. Then just a few days ago more production photos were released on top of what we had seen before. But now we finally get the title for what is likely to be the last thing X-Files, ever.

Chris Carter just announced this afternoon to the Associated Press that the X-Files sequel will be named “I Want To Believe” or in full: “The X-Files: I Want To Believe”.

“It’s a natural title,” Carter said in a telephone interview Tuesday during a break from editing the film. “It’s a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. I Want to Believe. It really does suggest Mulder’s struggle with his faith.”

Quite an appropriate title as well after I noted Mulder’s “Believe” poster looked all torn to bits and dragged through the mud. I guess it was rather important for them to dig that up out of storage after all!
