Everyone’s favorite Royal hottie, Prince William, has stirred up QUITE the controversy for using Royal Air Force (RAF) helicopters as his personal taxi! On April 3, he flew a Chinook helicopter 16 miles from his base to girlfriend Kate Middleton’s house in Berkshire, landing in her very large back yard. Estimates are that this little visit cost the RAF approximately 30,000 pounds ($60,000 dollars)!
Last week news escaped that William also flew the ‘copter to his cousin’s wild stag party on the Isle of Wright. He picked up his brother Prince Harry in London and headed on down for the event. Apparently the party was a testosterone fueled weekend which included a pub crawl where someone pulled down Prince Williams royal drawers! Snap! The rowdy royals also enjoyed some lapdances from a local “pro” named Gigi La Chance, and successfully convinced a few local girls to flash their funbags! Wonder what Kate thinks of that!
A Chinook helicopter costs around 15,000 pounds (approximately $30,000) an hour to run. The RAF is insisting that Prince William’s flights were legitimate training flights. Unfortunately, Britain has a severe shortage of the ‘copters for their troops in Afghanistan, (only 10), and the royal’s jaunts have caused a large PR problem!
Aviation analyst and RAF-trained pilot Jon Lake said the latest incident was “ridiculous and inappropriate”. “This is an absolute waste of training hours in the Chinook helicopter that the military are hard-pressed to afford. No other pilot at Prince William’s stage of training would be allowed anywhere near the left-hand seat of Chinook,” he said. “It’s like a learner driver being given the keys to a Formula One car just because his father owns the racing team.”
The head of the RAF, Air Chief Marshal Sir Glenn Torpy, reportedly “erupted” with rage at the “sheer stupidity” of the situation and is said to have demanded a “line-by-line” explanation from subordinates. Yikes! Shredders are probably running full speed right now!
Heads may roll on this one, as the RAF had approved all of the trips. It won’t be beloved Prince William’s, but he’s gonna have to figure out another source of entertainment transportation! A giant Chinook is NOT the stealthiest way to travel!

I will gladly volunteer to drive Prince William around as long as he’s not going to Kate’s house.
