The Bachelor Season 11

Tonight on The Bachelor, the four women introduce Matt to their families and insanity ensues when he goes to see Amanda.

L.A. and Shayne
Matt begins in L.A. to visit Shayne. He must visit separately her father and mother as they are divorced. He interviews that, “If I don’t get along with the girl’s family, then it’s a no-go for me.” He says he’s nervous to meet her parents because “the family has to be supportive of me 100%.” They sit together at a table and talk a little before the dad comes out. Shayne teaches him to properly say her dad’s name. Her dad comes out and they chat a bit, Lorenzo says he just wants her to make the right decision. Matt tells him how wonderful Shayne is, but Lorenzo cautions Matt that she only chose to come on the show for the TV time. Shayne is pissed and shocked, so she sets the record straight. Seems that’s all her dad wanted to hear.

Next, Lorenzo and Matt have alone time and dad says he wasn’t there for her enough, so don’t toy with her. He likes Matt and thinks he has true feelings. Dad tells Shayne he just wants her to be happy and she interviews that it went well.

Mom’s house: it’s going to be Shayne’s mom and sister. The whole place is very girly and Matt is digging the set-up (and the tutu-wearing dog). Shayne says, “My family’s loving, but also a little bit crazy.” I can tell because her mom has more botox in her lips than…well I don’t know, but they’re huge! And her cleavage is out and ready to play! It’s cool, though, because she serves him British-style food (which is very sweet) and asks him about his feelings on the process. Mom takes Matt for some time alone and shows him home videos of Shayne dancing. Meanwhile, Shayne tells her sister she’s not sure she’s in love with Matt, but could definitely fall in love with him. Back to Matt, where mom is asking tough questions. She interviews that she feels good about him. He interviews that he had a good time and “I got Shayne completely wrong.” He’s falling for her.

It’s now 25 after 10:00 and how is that fair to the other girls? Just curious.

Durango, CO and Chelsea
Matt says that Chelsea, for him, has “been going hot and cold.” He wants her to drop her barrier and is excited to meet them. He meets Mom and Dad and dad asks if he’s ready to settle. He tells the stroke story about his father and how that pushed him into marriage material. Chelsea’s dad thinks he’s sincere and honest. Chelsea says she was nervous at first, but feels better now. Matt says he was falling for her from the get-go. Dad tells Chelsea to open up and be honest about her feelings. After the date, she walks him out, kisses him, and tells him she loves being with him. He says something similar and then interviews that, “We could genuinely make it.”

Only an 8-minute edit for Chelsea. I’m not sure, but they seem to be showing a completely Shayne-centric version of this show.

Loveland, CO and Noelle
Matt interviews that he knows the other three girls better and so he wants to get to know Noelle better. They ride into the property on horses and she says it’s real now. She tells him she feels they complement each other and he’s only the second guy she’s ever brought home. Meeting her parents is like “meeting other parts of me.” He’ll meet her dad, mom, and 2 sisters. Dad takes him to play horseshoes and asks, “What kind of person would do this sort of thing?” He’s just trying to get to know Matt better. Mom asks Matt about where they would live and he says he’s flexible as long as it’s the right person. I’m pretty sure this is a load of crap, but he’s been pretty up front on everything else, so perhaps I’ll just trust him on this. Noelle’s sisters then take him outside and ask him some more tough questions. He bluntly tells them he is falling in love with more than one person. They relish his honesty and ask if Noelle’s one of the people he’s falling for. He says yes. Dad and Mom ask Noelle if it’s worth fighting for. She’s afraid to let him in because she doesn’t want to get let down, but they tell her to go for it. Matt then says he could see himself with her and she tells him he “passed with flying colors.” She is surprised by her feelings.

Tallahassee, FL and Amanda
I’m excited to see what hired actors do for Matt and if this is going to be well-received or not. He says, “It’s quite unlikely I’ll end up with someone whose family I don’t get along with.” I can say that I would definitely agree that’s good, and since he already got along with the other 3, he’s lucky he’s got some choices.

Amanda interviews that she wants to play this prank on Matt (hiring professional actors to play her parents) because he likes pranks. The fake mom is really over the top and laughs at everything. Fake dad is scary and Matt is freaking out that he doesn’t like him. Fake mom steals Matt from fake dad and hits on him hardcore. Fake dad comes out and freaks out on her and I’m laughing because this is hilarious, but I’m really hoping that this isn’t going to kill Amanda. Amanda then comes out and relieves everyone, letting Matt know of the prank. He’s very impressed (good for him!) and they give the real parents no screen time. What a weird hometown date. Amanda and Matt suck each other’s faces off at the end of the night and we’re at rose ceremony time already.

Rose Ceremony
Now that no one lives in the mansion anymore, they have no cocktail party and obviously, that’s not really something he needs anymore. I think he legitimately likes all four and based on the home dates, previous dates, and editing, I think Amanda and Shayne are shoe-ins and Noelle’s probably going home. Let’s see if I’m right.

Rose number one goes to: Shayne (1 for 1)
Rose number two goes to: Amanda (2 for 2)
Holy cow, Chris Harrison is short!
Rose number three goes to: Chelsea.

Wow, I’m good.

Noelle is gone and Matt takes her out to talk to her. She says it’s ok, they had a late start, then takes fault for not opening up fast enough. Aww, how sweet. She’s pretty heartbroken, it seems, but understands why it happened that way. She expresses much disappointment, but is very tactful and mature. I like her. I hope she finds someone good!

The remaining three are going to Barbados and I’m jealous.
