Once again, this was not one of my favorite weeks on American Idol. I may have mentioned a few times in my previous posts that I’m not really a big Neil Diamond fan. While I may be in the minority, I still will not be sad to have this week over.
Jason Castro was called to the stand first. I could not believe it when Ryan told him he was safe. He deserves to be in the bottom two. Both of his performances last night were just plain awful. I know a lot of fans like him but, that means that a more deserving singer is going home. Jason is just not putting in the effort any more. Archuleta was of course also safe. I was not that impressed with his performances last night but I know he has a cult following despite his robotic performances. No surprise there. I also decided tonight that he would make a great Muppet. David Cook was also safe for another week. This of course means that Brooke White and Syesha Mercado were the bottom two.
I was a little surprised that Syesha was in the bottom two. As I said, I thought it should have been Jason instead. Brooke on the other hand, definitely deserved to be in the bottom two. Following performances by Neil Diamond and Natasha Bedingfield, Ryan let Brooke know it was time for her to go. If either Syesha or Brooke had to go home, Brooke was the one who needed to go.
Say goodbye to Brooke White America.
Next week the American Idol top 5 take the stage again. Be sure to come back to get our view and discuss the results.

I was surprised about Syesha being in the bottom two as well, but then I was wondering if they were even calling them “bottom two” or just revealing who was safe and who wasn’t. I remember in the past they’ve just gotten to the point where they stop saying “bottom #” and just doing safe/going home.

Oh, that was the hardest exit song I’ve ever had to watch! There was no way Brooke was gettin’ through that. I wish for her sake they’de have done it like last week and let the bottom 2 sing and THEN give the results. I thought B was gonna have a crackup, and I guess she basically did. One girl left. Hmmmm. Archie is a TOTAL muppetbot. Is it Tuesday yet?
