The Dark Knight: Fan Trailer Homage Incites Conspiracy

Yesterday a video was making its rounds on the interwebs that had Dark Knight fans grabbing their tin foil hats and heading for cover. Initially it appeared as though the widely circulated Batman: The Dark Knight trailed had been lifted, scene by scene, from the original 1989 Batman film by Tim Burton. The video below presents a side by side comparison which, if it were true, would make for an undeniable argument that someone worked hard to match the original. If it were true.

It’s not true. I promise. First off, despite all the efforts of this very creative artist he failed in the first second of the trailer show-off. Right there at the beginning is the MPAA trailer rating screen with the “filmratings.com” and “mpaa.org” labels on the screen, something we wouldn’t be using too much in the late 80’s.

So what we’ve got here is a carefully produced fan trailer built from the full film, not the actually trailer. But all the same, it’s pretty cool and more than worth checking out.
