Last week Tom Cruise returned to Oprah’s couch in a much anticipated “how far can he get his foot into his mouth” moment. Oddly, there weren’t any of those moments. Instead Cruise came across a bit more humble, restrained, and even admitted being wrong on that whole postpartum depression issue:
“It came out wrong, it’s just not true. I was raised by four women who have children and babies. I’m not trying or want to tell anyone how to live their life or what they should believe or shouldn’t believe.” Cruise went on to say he felt “pressed” by the media during that period of his life - and regrets saying a lot of things on TV. He added, “I felt like I could’ve handled it better,”
Could’ve handled it better is an understatement. All that chaos the other year even managed him to get dropped from Paramount Pictures where he has likely earned the studio billions of dollars over the life of their work together. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come with Cruise returning to his less public and more enjoyed relationship with his fans. Let’s see how long this one can last.
