It’s official. After dropping out of the CBS pilot “My Best Friend’s Girl”, Jennie Garth has become the first original cast member of 90210 to join the series remake. The networks are hinting that she might not be the last either, as they’ve mentioned before they want to get as many of them back as possible.

CBS and CW, who are producing the spin-off, even hint that others from the original may return — calling Garth “the first cast member to reprise her role.”

Garth will return as her original character, the spoiled Kelly Taylor, who has now returned to be a guidance counselor to the new generation of students.

A new face to the series, Lori Loughlin from Full House, has also joined the cast as an Olympic medalist who is the mother of two of the central students. If they get Uncle Jesse to be her husband I promise I’ll watch the pilot, but that’s it.
