Jonah Hill, the hilarious buddy actor from Superbad and Knocked Up, is set to bring Johnny Depp’s big 80’s television show, 21 Jump Street, to the silver screen. What? No “presented by Judd Apatow” to cap it off?
The breakout Superbad comic and Judd Apatow acolyte is in negotiations to develop a movie adaptation of the popular ’80s TV show starring Johnny Depp. It hasn’t been decided whether Hill will actually star in the movie, but Sony confirms that he’ll work on the screenplay and serve as executive producer.
Well that’s cool. I love me some Jonah Hill and a lot of the 80’s remakes have been pretty decent in the past few years. From what I remember of 21 Jump Street it was pretty serious and since I can’t imagine Hill doing anything serious this is going to end up being a slapsticky comedy. If they could just get us through it without flashing a penis at us that’d be great. Please.
