Last week we heard, from Tony Romo himself, that he and Jessica Simpson had split up as he romped around Chicago with his buddies, picking up ladies. But then over the weekend Romo showed up as Jessica’s little sister’s wedding to Pete Wentz. Now if you’re cynical of Hollywood romances like I am then you’d believe the rumors that Tony showed up after being begged by Joe Simpson to be there and show support, which translates to “media attention to whore out my daughter’s wedding.” People reports:

Simpson and her NFL-star beau were spotted together Friday on a sushi run in L.A., and later he was by her side again during Ashlee’s rehearsal dinner, held at Jessica’s Beverly Hills home.

“They were kissing and holding hands throughout the night,” added the insider. “He was very sweet to her. They were very much a couple.”

For the record, Jessica’s rep, Cindi Berger, has called the breakup talk “not true.”

Considering Tony disappeared right after the event and didn’t travel with Jessica and family to Mexico (uh, who goes on their honeymoon with their family?!)
