This is the So You Think You Can Dance Performance Finale. Each of the four remaining dancer had an opportunity to dance with each other. So each dancer will perform 5 times, 3 paired performances, a group routine, and a solo. They could have shortened the show by leaving the judges’ commentary out. The judges had nothing but great things to say about all of the performances and the performers. So instead, let me tell you what I thought of the performances.
Twitch and Courtney’s Hip Hop routine was a lot of fun. They did a great job. Like everyone else my favorite part of the routine was when Twitch spun her around on her head. I loved the choreography of Joshua and Katee’s routine. Through out this season I have never been that impressed with Katee. I think it was the way that she made the top 20 left a bad taste in my mouth. She did fine in this routine but, I really thought Joshua did much better. Courtney and Katee did a Broadway routine was cute. I thought Courtney did an awesome job of making it believable for me and was very enthusiastic. Katee seemed to be just going through the moves. Twitch and Joshua drew the short straw having to dance Russian folk dancing in the finale. They are amazing dancers but for their final routine it would have been nice if they could have done something with more popular appeal. Although I like Twitch better when you compare them right next to each other on the same stage dancing together, Joshua is probably the better dancer. I will say that I really enjoyed Twitch and Katee’s Foxtrot together. Twitch had trouble holding the pose at the end and Katee needed to do a better job getting into character. The final pair of the evening were Joshua and Courtney dancing the Jive. It was an amazing routine. That was probably my favorite routine of the evening. At the same time, this was the only performance Nigel knocked.
OK, now lets talk about the solos. Courtney’s solo was OK, but it’s pretty much the same thing she does every week. I miss Chelsea (she should have won). As usual Katee’s solo was poorly choreographed. She may be a good dance but I think when she has to perform her own material it is lacking. Twitch’s solo was fantastic, but then again the always are. I wanted to see him wear his signature glasses though. Joshua’s solo was also very cool. He did a great job. I thought his split at the end was awesome and I loved the way he worked losing his shoe into an advertisement to call and vote for him.
My two favorite remaining dancers are Twitch and Courtney (Chelsea was my favorite this season). Having said that I will say that I think the two best remaining dancers are Courtney and Joshua. Joshua and Katee are the judges’ favorite though. So at the end of the day, it could be anyone. I think that Joshua and Katee will be the final two. I hate to say it but I think Katee might actually win the whole thing.

Oh, I hope Katee doesn’t win. I like her, but I really really want Joshua to win. I voted for him about 20 times. I like Twitch a lot too so if he wins I will be fine with that too. But I really don’t want Katee to win.

I enjoyed all four dancers so much! Raw talent! But my favorite was Joshua all along. I am glad he won! Because of his humility. I enjoyed Katie and Twitch a whole lot too! I hope I can get to see their touring show in Georgia. Being a former retired dancer myself, I wished that a dance contest was available like this when I was growing up. I performed for 30 years, 11 as a Artist-in Residence for the State of Georgia. Dance is my heart! This show is so inspiring! Thank you for the great choreography and the beautiful and strong dancers!

Why wasn’t Sabre Johnson invited to perform with all the other past winners on the finale show? I found her absence very strange. Even if she were out of the country and unable to appear, at least her name should have been mentioned. With regards to the show, I think that the last 3 couples were all talented but I was pleased with the results, although I wish that it could have been a tie between Joshua and Twitch. How about the lock competition! The things that Robert can do with his body - he must be quadruple jointed but Phillip was also incredibly talented.

I found sabre’s absence odd as well. What’s even more odd was no mention of her. I was looking forward to a solo from her just as benji did last year.
