Dancing With The Stars Season 6

Time for a new season of Dancing of the Stars! This season 13 couples will be competing for the mirrored ball trophy. This season includes new pros, gold medalists, entertainers, and the oldest and youngest couples on the DWTS dance floor. Each of our couples will be performing twice this week. A tough start for this latest batch of stars. The judges didn’t go easy on them at all. These were some of the worst scores I’ve ever seen. Its going to be tough to figure out who is going home first. Its going to be a race to the exit this season.

Cody Linley & Julianne Hough
Dance: Cha Cha Cha
This is the youngest couple ever on DWTS. Overall the judges said they liked it. They all thought this couple had potential but they were maybe a little overexcited. Tomorrow they will be back dancing the Quick Step.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 6
Total: 18

Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Foxtrot
Karina was dancing tonight with a sprained ankle. They kept showing her roll her ankle. It was awful. Rocco’s dancing wasn’t much better. He is definitely a little heavy on his feet. I’m not sure Rocco is going to be around too long. Bruno called it chaos. Carrie Ann called it ‘cute’. Len said it had a lack on finesse. Hmm, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a score that low before.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 5
Len Goodman: 4
Bruno Tonioli: 5
Total: 14

Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo
Dance: Cha Cha Cha
Toni & Alec have potential. I thought this performance was a little sloppy but, Toni definitely knows how to perform even if she needs to work on her dancing. After this performance I really wondered whether making the stars do two routines week 1 was a good idea. basically,. I’m saying I think it was a bad idea. Carrie Ann said it was good enough for week 5. Len called it very, very good. Bruno was really pleased. He called Toni slinky, sultry and sexy.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 22

Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke
Dance: Foxtrot
That was probably the performance I enjoyed the most so far tonight. It was fun, energetic, and definitely different. The judges agreed that Maurice is a great entertainer but he had a hard time dancing within the ballroom framework.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 6
Total: 18

Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
Dance: Cha Cha Cha
That was pretty good. I think Brooke and Derek are a good match. If Brooke can memorize the steps they have a chance to go far. The judges loved this performance. Len called this dance the best dance so far.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 23

Ted McGinley & Inna Brayer
Dance: Foxtrot
Ted had a tough draw, pulling the new girl. He has a lot of work to do to make it. This was a pretty simple routine especially for Ted. Ted has the sophisticated look. Bruno compared him to both Cary Grant and Steve Carell. Len thought he did a good job. Carrie Ann think Ted has potential he just needs to relax and practice more.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 6
Total: 18

Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Dance: Cha Cha Cha
Lacey Schwimmer was one of my favorite dancers on So You Think You Can Dance so I was thrilled to see her on the DWTS stage. I actually figured that Chelsea Hightower from last season’s SYTYCD would be the first crossover. Lance & Lacey’s routine was really cool. Len thought it was young and exciting but he is old. He thought it was a hodge podge. Carrie Ann called it Hot! Hot! HOT! Bruno loved it. He called it a Cha Cha Cha for now.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 6 (Boo!)
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 22

Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas
Dance: Foxtrot
Corky? Corky? Really? Oh dear. You couldn’t find a stage name or something? Of course he would be paired up with the 82 year old. All things considered they did fine. I wouldn’t bet on Cloris & Corky being around too long. It looked more like happy hour at the home than it did DWTS. She is definitely a funny lady. Watching Bruno kiss her knee was a little disturbing. The judges seemed to enjoy it but didn’t really give any real feedback.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 5
Bruno Tonioli: 5
Total: 16

Jeffery Ross & Edyta Sliwinska
Dance: Cha Cha Cha
OK, Jeffery Ross wasn’t quite as bad as Adam Carolla but he was pretty close. You would have thought DWTS would have learned their lesson with having comedians on the first time around. Carrie Ann form was bad, musicality was off, and he didn’t look like he was having a good time. Bruno compared him to the Cloverfield monster. Len called everyone a winner.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 4
Len Goodman: 4
Bruno Tonioli: 4
Total: 12
(Wait did I say 14 was lowest score I’d ever seen, my bad.)

Kim Kardashian & Mark Ballas
Dance: Foxtrot
Kim looked really stiff and maybe a little uncomfortable out their. Len said there was no chemistry between Kim & Mark. Bruno agreed saying that Kim didn’t really act out the part. Carrie Ann added that she really didn’t connect with the audience either. They got a much better score than I expected.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 6
Total: 19

Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani
Dance: Cha Cha Cha
I expected a lot more elegance out of Susan Lucci. I didn’t care for the choreography at all. It looked like the two of them were dancing at a wedding reception or office Christmas party. Bruno told Susan that she needed to be more of a slut. Carrie Ann told Susan she looked frail. Len said she needed to let go a little more.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 5
Len Goodman: 5
Bruno Tonioli: 5
Total: 15

Misty May-Treanor & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Foxtrot
Misty & Maks’s Foxtrot was much better than I expected. Carrie Ann told Misty to not try to muscle through it. Len thought it was very elegant and very good. Bruno took a middle road saying that she was elegant sometimes but when she lost her footing she would lose it.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21

Warren Sapp & Kim Johnson
Dance: Cha Cha Cha
Wow. I never would have guessed that Warren Sapp would be that light on his feet. He is a monster on the defensive line. That was a really good routine. Len called him a great big bundle of joy. Carrie Ann called him cute. Bruno said, “Big boys can dance!’
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21

  1. Patrice Miller

Happy to see DWTS back but felt like too many contestants. Got tired watching. Very thankful for Misty/Mak and Warren/Kim. They ended the show on a “wow” note. Please keep Lacey in line. Will watch edgy on SYTYCD.
