Dancing With The Stars Season 6

Tonight’s Dancing With The Stars wasn’t quite as painful to watch as last night. The judge’s scores were definitely a little more lenient. The first couple of DWTS Season 7 was eliminated tonight. I’m going to make you read to the bottom to see who it was but, to be honest it wasn’t really much of a surprise.

Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Dance: Quickstep
Quickstep seems like a tough dance to make them do week 1 but, Lance & Lacey did a pretty good job with. It wasn’t quite as quick as you’d like to see but, or week1 they did a very creditable job. Len didn’t like much about it. Technically they had a lot of problems. Bruno thought they did a very good job selling it though. Carrie Ann was entertained but not technically impressed.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 21

Misty May-Treanor & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Mambo
I liked their routine. They were kind of the opposite of Lance & lacey in that I thought they were technically awesome but Misty was so focused that she didn’t look like she was having fun and enjoying herself. Carrie Ann thought they did much better than last night. All three judges thought they did a great job but Misty needs to work on her arms a little more.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21

Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke
Dance: Mambo
You can’t say Maurice doesn’t look like he’s having a great time on the dance floor. Maurice & Cheryl’s Mambo was way fun to watch. I thought they did a really good job. Maurice knows how to work the crowd too. Bruno called dynamic, energetic, and exuberant even if it strayed a little from the Mambo. Carrie Ann thought it was much improved from last night. Len doesn’t want Maurice to throw in the Free Willy step anymore, whatever the hell that means.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21

Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
Dance: Quickstep
Nicely done Brooke and Derek. Their routine had the elegance that Lance & Lacey were missing. That was great. Once again Len called it the best dance so far. Bruno called it Sen-Sa-Shun-al! Pure Hollywood! Carrie Ann agreed calling fantastic.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 9
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 26
(Wow!)

Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas
Dance: Mambo
There was no chance Cloris was going to be doing the Quickstep. I admire Cloris Leachman for trying this at her age but that was downright painful to watch. Carrie Ann thought it was entertaining. Len said she can shake her coconuts. Bruno said he never saw a Mambo like that before.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 5
Bruno Tonioli: 5
Total: 16

Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo
Dance: Quickstep
They did very well. It wasn’t quite up there with Brooke and Derek but I still thought that Toni & Alec did a great job on that Quickstep. Bruno called it light, sparkling, and elegant. Carrie Ann thought they did really well and that Toni & Alec had great chemistry. Len said she had some funny footwork and a funny head but otherwise they did a good job.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 23

Warren Sapp & Kim Johnson
Dance: Quickstep
That is absolutely amazing that a guy that freaking huge can move so fast. Warren Sapp is incredibly nimble. Warren & Kim’s Quickstep was superb. Len thought that it was entertaining but technically it was not good. Bruno was as amazed as I was with Warren’s footwork. Carrie Ann called Warren tons of fun but she also agreed with Len on the problems with his technique.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 22

Ted McGinley & Inna Brayer
Dance: Mambo
Ted has the machismo (God I hate to use that word) to really pull off the Latin routines. He is not the best dancer but it was fun to watch. Ted did a good job selling it. Carrie Ann saw that Ted did a lot of moves but that there is an awkwardness to the way he moves. Maybe that’s because ballroom dancing is unnatural for most men. Len called it creditable. Bruno told Ted to listen to the music better because he seems to lose the musicality sometimes.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 19

Cody Linley & Julianne Hough
Dance: Quickstep
They did an excellent job. It seems like the Hough’s are going to be the favorites this season. Bruno called them the king and queen of the prom. Cody just needs to watch his control. Carrie Ann said that Cody went from a boy to a man. Len said he danced with great maturity.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 23

Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Mambo
I Rocco did a much better job tonight. Maybe it was just first night jitters. I still not sure he has a chance to win but it was definitely much better. Len also said that Rocco did much better. Bruno said he has never seen such a dramatic improvement over night. Carrie Ann called their performance super sexy.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21

Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani
Dance: Quickstep
Their performance was one of the slowest Quicksteps I have ever seen. You could almost see Tony holding back and trying to slow himself down. Carrie Ann said that Susan did a great job. Len said it was so much better than last night. Bruno called it class, elegance, and glamor. Bruno even admitted that Len was right in saying that Ballroom would be her element. I agree that she and Tony did better tonight but I don’t think it was worthy of a 22.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 22

Kim Kardashian & Mark Ballas
Dance: Mambo
They definitely picked an appropriate song for Kim to dance to, Baby Got Back. That may have been the best part of the performance. Most of the routine was Mark dancing around Kim. Bruno was very frustrated that Kim was not making the best use of her ASSets. Len said Mark was over dancing to compensate for Kim’s lack of performance. Carrie Ann thought she did a good job with what she’s got as a non-performer.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 6
Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 6
Total: 18

All I can say is what a surprise, Jeffery Ross & Edyta Sliwinska were the couple going home. I will give Jeffery credit in that unlike Adam Carolla he was much more of a class act when it was time for him to say goodbye. So that was it for the performances this week. Tune in tomorrow night for the final episode of the week. Here is a look at tonight’s scores. Please, dear God, send Cloris Leachman home.

I must disagree with regard to your comments on Adam Corolla’s farewell. I felt he made a wonderful, heartfelt and poignant farewell speech, as did Jeffrey Ross. Adam is a comedian - he is going to play with words. And lets face it, Cloris may just be around for another week simply because she is the most entertaining.

I agree with sending Ms. Leachman home. I was embarased by her lack of professionalism and cursing on the first night…I couldn’t watch and had to turn the channel. I’m all for her gusto for dancing, she just needs to be a “lady”
