At least the couples only had to learn one routine this week but of course they only had 4 days to learn it. Once again I’m not sure this was the best plan. Give them some easy routines and give them a chance to learn them. It is no wonder the judges’ scores are so low again tonight.
Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo
Dance: Rumba
I didn’t think this routine was too bad. Toni was a little stiff in places but not bad overall. Toni did look pretty good in that outfit. Len was surprised at how good it. Len liked the chemistry but he thought it laked some fluidity and needed some more basic moves. Bruno and Toni both agreed with Len. Carrie Ann called them on two lifts as well.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 23
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
Dance: Paso Doble
Once again Brooke & Derek showed that even in week 2 they are the couple to beat. That was an awesome routine. Carrie Ann was mesmerized. Len thought they came out and portrayed the aggression of the Paso very well. Bruno called Brooke born to dance. That was a weak score considering how much the judges praised them.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 24
Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Rumba
I thought Rocco and Karina had some great chemistry and good sensuality but Rocco didn’t really do a whole lot of dancing. Bruno told Rocco he looked like he ran out of steam. Carrie Ann was sad because she thought Rocco was lacking musicality. Len said there were more tears than cheers in the recipe.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 5
Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 5
Total: 16
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Dance: Paso Doble
I loved it but I knew Len was going to hate it. That was not your mother’s Paso Doble. Len did hate it. He didn’t think it had a whole lot of Paso Doble moves though. Carrie Ann loved that they took the big risks. Bruno thought it was thrilling to watch but He agreed with Len that they weren’t enough Paso Doble-ish.

Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 7

Kim Kardashian & Mark Ballas
Dance: Rumba
Another poor performance by Kim. That looked like a really bad prom dance. Mark did his best but he could only hide so much. Basically, Kim can’t dance. Bruno knows she can’t dance but he would at least like to see her get in character. He called her rumba colder than Siberia. Len was disappointed as well. Carrie Ann said she felt like she had seen the same performance three times.

Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 5
Total: 17
Misty May-Treanor & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Paso Doble
I kinda liked their bad-boy/girl routine. In places, you could almost see Misty counting the beats in her head. The routine was great. MIsty looked awesome in her dominatrix outfit. The Paso was perfect for her because she had that aggresive look on her face throughout the routine. Carrie Ann liked it. Bruno called Misty, Xeno Warrior Princess. Bruno liked the routine but she needs to work on the finesse. Len thought it was a great attempt. All of the judges loved the choreography.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21
Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke
Dance: Rumba
Maurice didn’t do a bad job. Maurice needs to work on his technique. This is the same feedback they got last week. Eventually Maurice is going to have to listen to the judges.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 6
Bruno Tonioli: 6
Total: 19
Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas
Dance: Paso Doble
That may have been Cloris’ best performance (which isn’t saying much). It may have been because the choreography was meant to be slow and jerky so her normal movements blended in a little better. Bruno called it surreal. Len thought it was lovely traditional dance to traditional music. All Carrie Ann could say was that she hoped she was half the woman Cloris when she turned 82. Carrie Ann declined to comment on the performance. At least we didn’t have to put up with 10 minutes of Cloris’ antics tonight.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 5
Len Goodman: 5
Bruno Tonioli: 5
Total: 15
Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani
Dance: Rumba
Actually I thought Susan has improved since last week. IT also looked like she had raided Edyta’s closet for her dress tonight. Carrie Ann thought it was really nice. Bruno said it was a very good rumba but Susan danced it like the virgin queen instead of a hungry cougar. Len (like myself) did not like it when Tony exposed himself. Len congratulated Susan on acting the part.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21
Warren Sapp & Kim Johnson
Dance: Paso Doble
I loved the Matrix-themed routine. Warren didn’t really express the character of the Paso really well. he still looked like he was enjoying himself too much. I guess if I got to be pressed up against Kim Johnson when she was dressed like that I would have too. Len thought it was a perfect Paso. Carrie Ann told Warren you are the Paso Doble Killer In The House. Bruno called it big and bold. He told Warren the way he moved his feet was fantastic.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 24
Cody Linley & Julianne Hough
Dance: Rumba
I thought that was an awesome Rumba. Julianne stole the show though. I’m not even sure I noticed how well he danced. Bruno asked Cody “You’re like a kid in a candy store aren’t you?” Then he told Cody that he needs to learn control. Len thought it was good but lacked a little bit of finesse. Carrie Ann thought it was an Age appropriate Rumba.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21
