At the beginning of tonight’s Dancing With The Stars results show Tom Bergeron updated us on Misty May-Tranor’s surgery. I was glad to hear she was doing well. You would hate to see an Olympic athlete ruin her career on a bit o’fluff show like this. Edyta and Maksim danced the Jive that Misty would have performed with Maks last night as a tribute which I thought was a nice gesture.

I’ve been a little surprised with some of the folks on DWTS this season. Lacey Schwimmer is a former finalist on So You Think You Can Dance which is a FOX show and tonight they had Jennifer Hudson a former American Idol finalist which is also a FOX show. The ABC/Disney machine is usually so geared towards self promotion that I’m surprised to see them leveraging stars who gained notoriety on another network. While I’m on Jennifer Hudon’s performance, did you see Len watching Julianne dance on the judge’s desk during Jennifer Hudson’s performance? He looked like some old pervert at a strip club.

At the end of the night, as I predicted last night, none of the couples were eliminated tonight as a result of Misty & Maks having to drop out. To keep things fair and to make sure that the votes of the fans count, the votes and judges scores from this week will be combined with the votes and scores of next week to determine which couple will go home. Rocco & Karina would have been the couple going home this week had Misty & Maks not left. They are going to have to really work to make up the vote gap next week if they want to have any chance to take advantage of this reprieve.
