Tonight was definitely an interesting installment of Dancing With The Stars. Four new dances were introduced to the DWTS stage: The West Coast Swing, The Hustle, Salsa Dancing, and The Jitterbug. I wasn’t a big fan of the first two but loved the second two. The other interesting bit of news tonight was that Len would be AWOL next week. Instead he will be replaced with a special celebrity judge to be announced tomorrow night during the results show.
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Dance: West Coast Swing
Lance & Lacey’s West Coast Swing was just OK for me. Len just thought that Lacey needed to show off her partner a little more. Bruno thought it was Lance had to step up a little more to match Lacey. Carrie Ann agreed with Len. Lacey basically got lectured by Len and Carrie Ann.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21
Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo
Dance: West Coast Swing
Once again I thought their performance was OK. Maybe I’m just not into the whole West Coast Swing thing. It seems a little two slow to me. Bruno thought Toni was sexy but criticized their inclusion of the moon walk. Carrie Ann thought they over danced it. Len told Toni she had potential but they need to go back and regroup which I really didn’t understand.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 22
Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani
Dance: Hustle
The Hustle is another new dance which I don’t like. This is another relic of the 70’s that should have died which the Dodge Dart. They did Ok but I can’t say I was really entertained. We also found out that Suan has been dancing on a broken foot which, according to the doctors at Cedar Sinai is finr as long as she can deal with the pain. Sorry Susan no easy outs for you. Carrie Ann thought it was a lot of fun. Len didn’t feel like they wowed him. Bruno thought it looked like a Hustle (which I guess is good since it was supposed to be a Hustle).
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 22
Warren Sapp & Kim Johnson
Dance: The Hustle
Warren and Kim’s Hustle was much more entertaining than Susan and Tony’s. I still don’t like the Hustle but their’s was pretty good. Len called it fun and enjoyable. Bruno said Warren was a guy who really knew how to funk! Carrie Ann correctly called it a nostalgic dance (maybe we can have the Charleston next season).
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 25
Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas
Dance: Salsa
Awesome, its Carribean night at the home. As usual, the more Cloris tries to be sexy the more downright disturbing it is. Bruno said the old girl can still turn a trick. Bruno said she did a Salsa but she looked like she had a pitcher of margaritas before she did it. Carrie Ann and lENmade some
Carrie Ann Inaba: 7
Len Goodman: 7
Bruno Tonioli: 7
Total: 21 (Please that was not a 21 worthy performance).
Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke
Dance: Salsa
Maurice and Cheryl definitely did a better job than Cloris & Corky but that isn’t saying much. I really enjoyed that. Their performance may have been my favorite performance of the night. Carrie Ann just gave Maurice a great big hug. Len loved it and Bruno agreed.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 9
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 27
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
Dance: Jitterbug
That was really good considering Derek has never done the Jitterbug before. I thought that Derek kind of stole the show from Brooke. Len told Brooke that whatever dance she gets she comes out and consistently does a good job. Bruno called it glorious! Carrie Ann couldn’t even find anything wrong with it.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 10
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 10
Total: 29
Cody Linley & Julianne Hough
Dance: Jitterbug
I definitely liked the Jitterbug better than the Hustle. I thought that Cody & Julianne did a really good job with this routine. Although, I personally liked Brooke and Derek’s Jitterbug better. They made Julianne look surprisingly like Lucille Ball. Bruno loved the frantic energy of the routine. Carrie Ann thought that was the perfect dance for Cody. Len thought it was fun, entertaining, and dull of energy.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 10
Len Goodman: 9
Bruno Tonioli: 9
Total: 28

The show is rigged. Watch Cloris will still be in the competition even though she is a poor dancer.

I think it is time for the “old girl” to be voted off. Cloris, the time for funny stuff is over, we want to see some REAL dancing and competition.
