The May 2009 release of Star Trek is getting closer and as it approaches you can watch out for lots of Star Trek goodies along the way. Today we get our first look at the USS Enterprise, Kirk’s personal starship as he zooms across the galaxy. Of course it wasn’t always Kirk’s and that’ll be part of the story when JJ Abrams’ vision hits the screen.
Abrams seems especially proud of the new ship’s level of detail, as he told EW:
“The coolest thing about it—maybe the coolest thing in the movie—was when you flew around the ship, you could see all the different panels that made up the ship,” says the director of the forthcoming Trek reboot, slated for a May 8, 2009 release. “It was the first time I had ever seen that level of attention, that love of detail, given to the tangible, practical reality of the ship.”
Computer graphics have come a long way since the first Star Trek, so yeah, I’d hope this was the best version we’ve ever seen. Enough of the stills, let’s get some footage out in the open!

ok I have watched all the shows from time to time and this is the most pathetic looking enterprise I have ever seen it looks like they threw together all the ships and hoped it came out somewhat normal looking I guess my time with Star Trek has come to an end.
