Celebrities rarely get punished. You could steal a candy bar and get 18 months in jail. If you ever starred in a movie and then killed someone in the middle of a crowded mall you’d get a medal for bravery. So it should come as no surprise that Heather Locklear won’t get more than a slap on the wrist for last year’s DUI charge:
Santa Barbara prosecutors have dismissed a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence after the actress pleaded no contest to a lesser charge stemming from her Sept. 27 arrest.
The plea, for misdeameanor reckless driving, was entered by attorney Blair Berk.
Locklear was fined $700 fine, placed on informal probation for three years and ordered to attend a 12-hour drug-education program, according to the Santa Barbara District Attorney.
To be fair, the whole situation was fishy after news leaked that it was a papz who called the police just so she could get exclusive photos of Locklear’s arrest. But what the heck is “informal probation”? I’m guessing it’s something like “imaginary probation.”
